Personality

Xorro is extremely into hierarchy and respects rank within society whether he likes it or not. Although he wishes to strictly be into craftsmanship, he's extremely particular about his materials and believes if you want something done well, then do it yourself. So he frequently goes out in search of the materials he wants and since they tend to be in dangerous locations, he inadvertently learned how to be a decent fighter, though he hardly enjoys it. Of course this means people who know him often ask him for favors and despite his gruff exterior, he actually goes out to clear out any threat that was bothering them.Due to his upbringing, he tends to form relationships (romantic or otherwise) with women based on deep respect and with men of strong camaraderie. He can be quite flirtatious, though usually he means it teasingly/complimentary and gets caught off guard if someone seriously returns the remarks.

Background

A hrothgar of Tural, Xorro's mother is from Yak T'el and his father is a hyur from abroad that met her while aboard a dirigible as one of its engineers. They moved to Tulliyolal to raise their family and had Xorro's two older siblings and them in the city. When Xorro turned 16, they moved to Shaaloani to work as a miner and ranch hand until they were 22. At that point they decided to stowaway on a ship in order to remake themself and found themself in Ul'dah, as it seemed the most familiar to them.

  • If you think he has the Echo, no he doesn't. Unlike many who possess this attribute, Xorro does his best to ignore any supernatural abilities and will actively deny having it if confronted. This means pretending that he doesn't understand other languages and only speaking in broken grammar if not Common Eorzean or Turali. Any visions that interrupt his daily life, he claims as him just zoning out. The only use he finds for it is when crafting and gathering, which is why he frequently does both of these things in seclusion.

Pycha the Gazelle

While chocobos are fine and dandy, they're not Xorro's first choice as a beast of burden. Even so, he came across Pycha as a matter of happenstance with the beast trapped in a tight crevice it had fallen into. With some careful excavation, Xorro was able to free the gazelle and tend to it until it regained its strength. However due to an injury sustained to the animal's front right leg, Xorro keeps Pycha as a companion to provide it with a brace and medicines.

- Busybody :: If Xorro sees something going down that may result in harm to one of the participants, he usually goes to interfere. This could either be him catching sight of something or someone even coming to fetch him for assistance.
- Caretaker :: There's usually some manner of food or drink in Xorro's pockets and he tends to hand them out freely if someone asks or someone looks downtrodden enough to be in need of sustenance. Even further down that line, Xorro will take people home for them to have a place to stay. Some might mistake this as flirtatious, but he is not looking to have someone bed him when he does this.
- Weaponsmith :: While sometimes taken with the idea for a certain kind of weapon, Xorro does not wield them himself so he does often look for others to try them out for him. Wouldn't do any good to sell someone a faulty weapon, after all.- Also willing to discuss with possible past history entanglements.

Biases

  • Hyur: They're so common amongst any population that Xorro really can't have any assumptions about them one way or another. Though he feels more kindred with those of Gyr Abanian descent, since they share the unfortunate circumstance of the Imperial invasion.

  • Miqo'te: Honestly, Xorro is not readily able to tell the difference between Seekers and Keepers. He just knows the different cultures of certain groups and his main thought mostly is that the patriarchal lead clans come across as rather absurd to him. In general he finds Miqo'te to be the most endearing of all the other races, perhaps because their body language also includes the use of ears and tail. It is, of course, also an embarrassing fact to him that he does have a weakness for Miqo'te men that he should absolutely be made fun of for having.

  • Lalafell: There was some brief confusion the first time Xorro saw a Lalafell, but it only took a week or so in Ul'dah for him to adjust to the sight of the shortstack race. He can't help it if he still thinks they're adorable, though.

  • Elezen: So far, most Elezen he's met have some sort of stick up their butt in some form or another. It doesn't help that the main populations of Elezen are in Ishgard and Gridania which are both cultures that have had closed borders for a very long stretch of time. It's lead to him being decently skeptical, though he gives more leeway to Duskwight.

  • Roegadyn: Due to the decent population of Roes in Bozja, Xorro feels rather at ease with them; even if he's realized that most of the population in Eorzea have a much different history and culture. He greatly enjoys their company and perhaps has a fondness for Roe women.
